gussy and budstons christmas experience

So another joyful christmas was had by gussy and budston, and this year in a brand new house. The humans had wrapped up their christmas presents and placed them under the tree quite early this year which added to the excitement and anticipation on christmas day of what lay beneath the beautifully wrapped gifts.

The Humans decided gussy and budston should open their presents last, which meant they had to wait even longer, but at last the moment arrived......budston was first, his little claws were ripping into the paper and he was trembling with excitement. He could smell something fishy beneath the wrapping paper, boy did it smell good.

The last piece of paper was torn off to reveal his favourite fishy treats (2 packets) and ball! he was thrilled until he realised the treats were to be put into the ball and in order for him to get to them he had to roll it around on the floor until they dropped out. How humiliating! he felt like a poor seal at the zoo, having to perform for the humans in order to be rewarded.

However he went through the process just to keep his favourite human happy, and the fishy treats were yummy.

Gussys turn next.....he was more interested in the paper than the gift, he was just happy he was getting attention from the loud noisy human. She seemed more excited about the gift inside than he did. 'mmmmm cheesey bites - well its food' thought gussy and he merrily gobbled it all up whilst watching and laughing at budston chasing his ball.

The rest of the day was spent sleeping and eating. The humans played silly games which budston and gussy found annoying as they were making too much noise. Gussy took a shine to budston's ball and tried to nick it off him every time it was placed on the floor. This seemed to wind up the humans more than budston, who ended up eating so many treats that he threw up all over the floor......yukkk!

Gussy and budston thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas - now all the presents have been opened, gussy has taken to sleeping underneath the Christmas tree. Budston enjoyed special Christmas snuggles with his favourite human before retiring to bed with gussy in the kitchen, exhausted from the fun and frivolity of the days events.

the birth of a beautiful relaionship

Gussy the dog and budston the cat were brought together after their human owners began a beautiful relationship at the beginning of the year 2009.  Little did they know at the time this would also be the start of a beautiful relationship between two unlikely creatures - a daft but very affectionate west highland terrier named gussy and a plain but very devious clever cat called budston.

After a shaky start based upon mistrust and suspicion, the two formed an unlikely bond and this blog follows the advetures of the unlikely couple as they live their day to day lives in a small bedfordshire village.....I hope you find laughter, delight and much love in what is to follow.....sit back and enjoy!
